Cheese & Wine Fundraiser House Rehearsal in West Jeddore

A great big thanks to Coastal Voices bass Dave Kerr for hosting again our Cheese & Wine fundraiser at his beautiful home in West Jeddore. The drive into the community along the winding shoreline road past the fishing boats on a calm spring evening with a setting sun set the scene for a very productive rehearsal. Dave’s church conversion home makes a terrific space for both Choir and guest audience. Also, a hearty thanks to the audience for attending and for their warm support. We have some way to go to be ready for our concerts on May 27th and 28th, and we are getting there!

West Lawrencetown House Rehearsal

A huge thanks to Cindy and Clint Garland for hosting our March House Rehearsal in their lovely home with spectacular coastal views, and for the welcome refreshments. The photos show some intense concentration working on one of our concert pieces and the release at a break! It was a great rehearsal.

We’re looking forward to our Sheet Harbour concert on Sunday April 2nd.

Workshop at Grace United Church

On Saturday 4th February we attended a choral workshop at Grace United Church in Dartmouth. The helpful and thoroughly enjoyable event was  led by Dr. Mark Sirett and arranged by Malcolm Bradley.

The photos show us gathering after a warm-up, working with Mark on improving our vowel sounds, and assembling with Nova Voce for a combined choir rendition of “Ave, Maris Stella”. It was a great experience and we came away with many good tips for improvement, and things to think about and work on. It was also a privilege to sing with and also listen to Nova Voce. What a great choir!
